Yeah, I've done it.

There was originally a lot of hoo-hah about DVD+R and DVD-R. Then Sony came out with a burner that can read (and write) both formats. Nowadays, almost nobody cares any more.

The only REASON to care is if you burn a movie toDVD+R, and an (older) DVD player can't handle it. Burn the same data to DVD-R (or copy it) and see if the player has more luck.

Yes, but plus DVD's are better for Videos/Movies.

Yes but you need a +/- reader and writer OR
a + reader/writer and a - reader/writer.

The + reader/writer is needed to extract the info whilst the - reader/writer is needed to write the new disc.
