I was using the the bathroom, and when I went to wipe and this clear, rubber like stuff was on the tissue paper (not a alot, but enough to make me wonder) Could it be close to time for me to have my baby?

Yes it could be, although generally the mucus plug appears blood stained. Not every one has this 'show', it could be your waters. I would phone up your midwife and explain what has happened and See what she says, she may want you to go in so she can examine you. If it was to be your waters that have gone, as when your waters break, it is not necessary a big Gush, mine just trickled out with each of my pregnancy's, then it can be dangerous for you to have baths etc at home for fear of infection. being 37 weeks would be fine to have your baby, your due date is just a estimate but normally 2 weeks either side of that is when your baby can appear. Also if it was our waters, there is only a certain amount of time it is safe for your baby to be inside you, I think its something like if you was not to go into labor in 48 hours then would try to help things along. In any case your best bet really is to talk to your midwife. Good luck x

Sounds like you only lost part of the plug, which means that part of it is still in there. I can't remember which Pregnancy book I read it in, but the mucus plug measures somewhere around a foot long when it comes out completely. Gross huh?

Fortunately the plug is not an indicator of when you will go into labor. Could be your due date, could be tomorrow! Good luck!

It's possible it was the mucous plug, but just because the plug came out doesn't mean you'll go into labor right away. I lost the plug for one of my preg. nearly two weeks before labor.

Also, if it was just a little, it's possibly just a fragment.

Relax and enjoy these last few weeks of peace and quiet. The baby will come when she's good and ready. :-) Labor is our first lesson in patience as parents and being on "baby time."

It could be, but keep in mind that you can lose a mucous plug and develop another one more than once toward the end of your pregnancy. I lost mine 2 weeks before I had my first daughter.

yep, sounds like it...It usually has a pink tinge to it as well, but not always.
However, just because you've lost the plug doesn't mean you'll be going into labor immediately: it could be weeks yet.

Good luck with baby!
