i've been an ebay costumer for about 1 year, and i enjoy it, but i wonder...can the seller pretend or have another account, or tell a friend to bid, so he/she can sell the item, for a higher price? hpow can i know the seller is being fair?

This is definitely possible. I posted an item once and when I decided I didn't want to sell it, I ended up creating another account and outbidding those who had bid on it, so that shows that it can be done. However, I think doing this would not occur to most people and most wouldn't bother to do it. They risk being the highest bidder themselves and having no one willing to pay more. Even if people do do this, although it's really not a considerate thing to do, every price is a fair price if someone is willing to pay it.
