It felt like a gamble at the time but the right thing to do in the end.
There are days when business is not great and the luxury of a known wage coming in at the end of the month is tempting.
The other thing to remember is if you work in a profession where if you are off for the day no money comes in. Illness and holidays in particular.

I left a good job a few years ago to start an estate agency business - but there is little support for small businesses of thhat type and larger agencies are sharks. My biggest regret was not being properly indeminfied against debtors - two clients refused to pay for property consultancy - totally around £47k and when we took them both to arbitration we were granted less than a third.
Going back to work for someone else has been great - post-estate agency

I work for myself, it all depends on what you are going to do. What we do can be done along side a full or part time job untill you are earning enough to quit the job and I dont regret doing it I now get to see my kids growing up, something I missed with my eldest

I actually work from home full time. I threw in my 9 to 5 to do this full time and have not looked back since. It works for me and maybe could work for you. I believe any internet home based idea you have can be turned into a success.
