well you are absolutely right as these both share more than 1200 wickets between them and handling them was no child's play for even great batsman. There retirement will definitely leave a vacuum

Stuart McGill actually has a better average than Warne and is still considered one of the best leggies in the world.

Stuart Clark has really improved in South Africa and now the ashes and bowls a very similar line and length to McGrath.

2 excellent replacements ready to go and both already have good test experience.

We will miss Warnie and McGrath but we are ready.

technically no they still have a strong team however warne and mcgrath do enhance the team of that there is no doubt. just look at the career averages of tests they have played together.

on average they conceed less that 2.5 runs an over throughout the numerous tests they have played together.

back to your comment though australia will undoubtedly find talent such as mcgrath and warne withing a few years, although no doubt it will take a little to foster their skills and talents to a top class level.

hope this helps

No...I don't believe tat.....Warnie & Mike are great bowlers. But its the entire team contribution tat makes the team viscious.Their batting, bowling, fielding, running between wickets, catching, making chances of no where, running into opposition minds & blood, pressuring umpires.........u know its the entire activity.....they dont leave any departments unfilled..........They r great fighters...

Both are definitely very good and Aussie will be that much weaker . We'll soon find out how much weaker very soon as both have now retired. I believe Aussies have lot of other good bowlers and more will come in time.

And Lee never takes any wickets? Those two are good players but they aren't the be all and end all.
