Hell just wondering what age you considered yourself a full fledged adult? By law we all know 18 we are accountable as adults, however, I think it takes longer than that. I would consider for myself around age 23-24 when I was done with my college party streak, living totally on my own--considering I was dirt poor, having a total adult relationship with my now current husband and now I am 28....and I am a mom...it is amazing what a few years do!!

Just curious what others think about this.

Thanks and have a good one--Jammie Girl

I don't think we grow up-I think we continue to learn throughout our lives--I think we mature as we get older by our learning experiences.

I was the oldest of 6 children so always quite responsible. Never did the party scene. Married at 18 and a mother at 19. I was a sassy teen so I guess I wasn't really an adult until 18-19. Always growing, learning and maturing though.

I'd say 19. My best friend/boyfriend's mom got stationed in Japan for 2 years. Since it was just the two of them, he had the option of moving to Japan with her or going out on his own. Long story short...we discussed it for a solid week and then took a leap. I went from living with my parents while going to college and working a part-time(maybe 20 hours a week) job and had no bills to living on my own with my boyfriend, going to college while working a full-time (40+ hours a week) management job and paying all my own bills. Suddenly I appreciated my parents ALOT more and realized they were right(*cringe*) about so much more than I ever gave them credit for. It was a drastic change. But I don't regret it at all. I think it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. My boyfriend and I are now engaged and saving to buy a house. Although, I still find it hard to believe that I'm "grown up". I still have alot of learning to do and I'll always consider myself a kid.

When I was 18, I considered myself legally an adult, but I was about 24 or 25 before I realized that my parents weren't quite as stupid as I thought they were. So I guess it was at age 24 or 25 when I actually "grew up."

I grew up a long time ago, I don't rem when. Around 9 or 10 when my mom had my sister, I had a lot of responsibility watching her. To this day I find myself more mature then my parents. I'm 21 today...but I feel like im 25+.

i'm undecided what the oldest age is yet my mom grew somewhat in college 18 or 19 y/o and a acquaintances mom grew inches in college. Your mom and dad are not all that vast however so which you in all probability won't recover from like 5'3" 5'4" pondering you're already sixteen. same with me i'm 5'3" and 17.

I think I was pretty grown up around 22. I had my own place by then, graduated college and was done with bars and playing around. It just varies for everyone.

Men don't really mature till they're about 40.
