If a person thinks of something meaningless in the past,something negative and his heart starts to beat faster,he starts to feel guilty and ashamed, that feeling comes and goes,then the next day another thought like this occurs and so on.

that is not a disease but if what u think is truly happens to you...
you have the spirit of God because your getting be conscience
you are now in the stage of being a true human.......

I don't think it's a disease; probably just psychological.

I think it's natural to feel guilty about things you've done in the past, but not all the time.

two different tings. nuerotic compulsive thinking and it produces fear,even anxiety, worseyet panic attacks. itsa killer and it olnly gets worlse.it willcause you to drink lots ofliquor ut you only get worse then come the funny colored monkies. beleive yo me i hae seen those monkies. check into a center of runaway and get away from everybody until a few years pass on some beach use a new name. get a job on a fishing boat that will pay you way and keep you very busy. run run run that is what i did and it worked until lately. got th big c and cannot run anymore. but i forgot what was worrying me befoe. so i am ljucky.

I would say that is consience not a disease. You can remedy that with doing good instead of bad.
But if you have negative thoughts all the time, are tired, etc. it could be one or other kind of depression.
