Make sure that your listings end on a Sat or Sun evening (in a major metropolitan area) will statistically make them end higher.
Other than that is it basically the same as in the real world.
Do the research to find a market. Construct a strict plan, but be willing to change if need be. Build a customer base with some sort of hook to break into your target market. Then repeat the whole process over and over.
Its sounds simple but a lot of luck is involved, too. So good luck.

You would have to make it a full time job, with attention to detail being your key to success.
Bear in mind that if you are selling on ebay as a business, then you need to register for tax and national insurance in the normal way.
The Inland Revenue has earmarked 2007 as the year they crack down on people not declaring their ebay businesses.

sell commercial stuff, like trainers. Make sure your cheaper than the high street.
I've been wanting to do the same thing for ages, butwith mobile phones, but no one seems to know of any good wholesalers or dropshippers for anything.

find a good product, buy cheaply, this is easier if you buy in bulk, wholesale, then sell at a price that covers your cost and profit, the risk is that if you buy in bulk and you are having trouble selling you are left with these items on your hands, however do a bit of research into whats selling and the right price to expect, sometimes things that you think won,t sell well do, i know someone who bought in bulk, of all things fridge magnets, they sold like hot cakes,he took the risk and it paid off. it can be done.
