I would think that a woman smart enough should know that profession itself is of no matter, and don't go attaching yourself to the one guy in your classes you could stand to be with. She should marry someone who she respects and admires and he her, that's all that matters. And the respect and admire part will bring you the professions that apply, like a lawyer, or dentist, or whatever, because these are the types of people you're most likely to be exposed to the most. I don't suppose a lot of carpenters are going to that formal dinner in honor of the Surgeon General.

It depends on what you value. A person's profession doesn't dictate whether someone will make a good spouse or not. Marry someone who you love and are compatible with.

It depends. Socioeconomic status is really important. Having the same background, race, ethnicity improve the outcome of a marriage. As a female doc, I'd say I don't need a stay-in-home husband/dad. I need a partner who works as hard as I do.
