It's very simple, most of the people who idolize any celeb for a particular reason always compare their lives to the celeb. They are hypnotized by the many factors which they consider a fantasy life, a life with no bounds, restrictions and only happiness. Now, when you compare those same factors to an average person's life, they can only be seen as a void which has yet to be fulfilled.
Why do you think so many regular people aspire to be a celeb rather than any other career such as a doctor or lawyer? Look at reality shows such as real world, American Idol, etc. You have regular, everyday people who make complete fools of themselves just so they can get a taste of what celebs supposedly have. For example, look how we laugh at people who can't sing on American Idol. These people may or may not know their "true" singing ability but they only concern themselves of being the next big thing.
In conclusion, people compare what they don't have and see that celebs are the people in this world who are truly happy. It's pathetic, but that's why celebs continue to stay rich while us middle class people have to live on what we have.
