So what? Sehwag has no competetion from Uthappa and Gambhir. You are wondering!, well he is no more playing as an opener in Indian team. Rubbish, they (selectors and think tank) will do anything to ensure that he continues to play.
Double standard:
They send Pathan back as he failed as a bowler, thats what he was being selected.
Why not this was meted out to Sehwag, chosen purely as a batsman and now playing as an allrounder.

Irrespective of his recent performances, Virendra Sehwag is a proven players and can demoralise any bowling attack in the world when he is in form. Such a player is to be nourished and given enough opportunities to regain his lost touch and form. While Robin Uthappa and Gautam Ganbhir have performed exceedingly well, they do not have international exposure. Since the world cup is only couple of months away, team management do not like to experiment with new comers and would like to relay on the players who have international exposure and have proved their worth.
