A friend of mine just got set up on the Internet. He went online about 30 seconds without antivirus and he said when his sister (who knows a bit more about computers) checked it out, he had 182 viruses. After some cleanup, he is now left with about 30 viruses that will still not go away. His sister recommended putting them in quaranteen but neither of them is really sure what it means and how to do it. Please help with potential solutions.

He needs a Virus Protector. If it can't get rid of them
it will lock them away ( quarantine ).
Try AVG, it's free. Look on the Web.
I brought "Zone Alarm Anti-Virus Protecter, and Firewall"
from Amazon.com. It was on sale.

You pretty much can't without a virus scanner.
I suggest using a free online virus scanner called Trend Housecall.
This will do quarantine, or give you solutions of how to get rid of the viruses.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:
