Boise deserved a playoff for a chance at Ohio State

The Boise State Broncos did for college football what the Utah Utes did a couple years ago. They reminded the BCS that the little guy deserves a chance at the big boys. I understand the strength of schedule argument, but shouldn't they at least get a shot at the National Title?...Have a chance to earn the right to play in the national title game? If they really don’t deserve a shot at the national title (because they play in a smaller conference than Ohio State or Florida), they would probably get eliminated in the first round by the playoff system anyway.

Historically, sports have shown us that the best team the entire season through doesn’t always have what it takes to win when it counts. It just doesn’t seem to be a fair assessment, especially when people use the argument that a playoff system will never be implemented because of all the revenue that would be lost on bowl games. The thought of compromising crowning an NCAA football champion that is truly the best because of money--that shifting the game around for the sake of entertainment instead of in an effort to uphold the integrity of the game and collegiate sports is even an option--makes me sick. Especially from a former student-athlete’s perspective.

What about a four team playoff that includes teams like Boise State if they finish undefeated?

Yes they do. If you really think about it there are 32 teams in the NFL and they have a playoff system. Best Six teams from each division make to the playoffs. In college they only rank the top 25 teams. Take an NBA approach split the teams right down the middle west and east the best six teams from each side make it to the playoffs. They also need to get rid of the way they look at the percentages no matter if it is the beginning of the season or at the end of a season a loss is a loss.

I personally don't really understand this whole college football system where officials hand pick who deserves a shot at who for the championship game. You get one crack at the cookie and then you go home. I just hate it how teams feel they need a rematch for something that would affect the bcs standing. ......................so basically the bcs is the top division among all the schools in america if I am not mistaken. So how are these teams officially qulaified to play for the crown of the National Title. I think it should be a massive playoff system to determine a national champion much like the NCAA division 1-A where all the bowl games are a bracket to qualify then beforehand the the bracket is made up to see which bowl winners play who in order to make it to the big dance fairly. This seems like the only fair resolution.

the present equipment of choosing who performs is okay. for all the yelling an screaming each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days there are truly in easy terms 2-3 communities worth for a nat identify shot. yet i do think of they're going to tweak the Bowls back whilst the present settlement is up in 2011 and the BCS bowls will grow to be a 4 group play-off a million vs 4 2 vs 3 the winners play in the BCS champ bowl 4 rounds of play-off??? lol way too many not worth communities sorry yet once you end sixteenth in the BCS you have 2 or 3 losses and actually dont deserve a shot
