Reading! It requires a little more from us than staring at a box having all the blanks filled in for us. We have to fill in the blanks ourselves. Not to mention it is such a great escape and personal alone time that no one can take away. I have been a reader since I was little, and wow! the places books have taken me!

Reading

It depends on the subject matter and the amount of time available. I love reading say, The Dark Tower series (Stephen King), but each of the 7 novels is from 250 to 850 pages. LOST, the tv show is only one hour, once a week (not counting rewatching, or on-line discussion), so it's more manageable, and leaves me plenty of time to read.

So, yes. Reading and watching TV is better than doing dishes.

I like watching TV better, but since pretty much everything on TV sucks lately, I've been doing more reading.

Reading, hands down. But it all depends. Sometimes I have a great book I can read and other times, I have crap to read so I turn on the TV and watch something that is either funny and will give me a good laugh or educational (history channel, news)... so I think BOTH ultimately are informative... but yeahhh READING is "better"

watching tv of course. It's got pictures and sounds, plus you don't have to use much of your brain unless it's some complicated show that requires you to crack some codes or something.
