Am I concerned about global warming right know, well not (but it is a problem). But I am concerned what life will be like in 30,40,50 ect years time.

No, I never written your Congressman, Senator, or government to ask that they take action to address the issue. But I may do some volunteer environmental work.

Concerned? no because although it does seem to be happening it's not quite as bad as Al Gore and others make it out to be. The earth has grown warmer by a little over 1 degrees in the last few hundred years I can live with that I get cold easily anyway. There is no concrete proof that man is the cause either. Only speculation and theories when Gore was pinned down to show actual proof he even admitted it. It's nature it's what happens things change. And tell me this why are some of the same scientist's that were screaming global cooling in the 70's now screaming global warming?? It's just a tactic to keep the government handing out that grant money to them. lol Did you know that since we have had probes around mars and on mars they have been taking temperature readings and mars is heating up at the same rate as earth! And last time I looked they didn't have too many gas hog suv's running around that planet. It's just nature the sun and other natural things. Everyone eventually dies from something maybe it's better if we concerned ourselves on how we live our lives and treat other folks. Just a thought. Go ahead and worry about anything you want.By the way the U.S. is keeping it's emmisons and such even under what was set. I will try and stay as happy as I can. Not to say it is not good to write your Representatives. I do sometimes but rarely get an answer lol/

I have a problem with the debate of global warming. The pseudo-environmentalists repeat CO2 theories like a Toucan Bird. There is no debate about if we are in a warming trend...we are, but there is inclusive evidence about the cause. Environmentalists should go out and research other potential causes with seeking the truth not political agendas in mind.

Example, the Sun is not a uniform heat generator...it is a violent place with storms the size of Jupiter. These storms kick out huge amounts of solar radiation in huge flares...these flares warm the front end of the solar system. That's why the surface of the moon temperature has gone up in correlation with the Earth temperature without the effects of atmospheric CO2 emissions.

There are other theories...such as Earth's orbital wobble, where every 10,000 year the Earth does a little bob and weave naturally. This causes a shift in the Earth's Temp to go up without CO2. Also, the Earth's core is overdue in adjusting its Poles...this will effect the Atmosphere and the amount of Solar Radiation that is allowed in...Lastly, there is also Urbanization of the Planet....Cities are always hotter than the Rural areas, because of the reflective nature of concrete and blacktops. Wouldn't it make sense that the larger cities and suburbs get...the average temp should also rise.

These are other ideas that are just theories and more objective research needs to be done...so don't politicize an issue because it skews the truths for a political agenda.

Global warming, no. Pollution control, yes. If you really look at the global warming hypothesis it is all based on increased pollutants being produced. I have written my Representatives to make roads for bicycles, continue the tax breaks and incentives to buy hybrids, to give a shot in the arm to the alternative fuel industry by making part of the national fuel stocks alternative fuels and to make 5% of what the military uses bio-diesel (I am sure our tanks will be just as deadly running off it), make government officials start using hybrids (our leaders should be making sacrifices as well).

The major sticking point is how to deal with other countries. Honestly, how can we stop cutting of the rain forrest, it isn't ours. There is some billionaire in China bulldozing mountains (literally) and building on the sites where they were. We can clean our act but having say on other countries is a huge problem. That is why Kyoto was so bad for us, we would have pretty much been the only country effected by it.

But when ideas come up I do write to my representatives.

Nope - In fact I will enjoy the warm air. I like the concept of more fresh water. Big deal if some land is flooded, you move in-land. There has been many ice ages and warm cycles - do you think we really control the cycles. Last year the scientist predicted a lot of hurricanes on the east coast - heck if they can't predict wind patterns 2 months out they sure as heck can't predict the big thaw. As for living organisms like ourselves - so we purge some and new ones take over, maybe we can get rid of the Muslim terrorist and the weapon of choice will be a female "Mother nature" You know part of our being in the womb we have a cycle of having gills - if the warm up continues so we have slits in our throats and our enemy for supremacy will be the dolphins. I wonder what fear they have - must be the big chill down the road.

Gore's pack of lies is working, this question is a classic example... Global warming IS happening, a given, but not for the reasons our leftist liberal science sources, politicians and press are reporting. Only 18 percent of the "new" Co2 in the atmosphere is contributed by all contemporary sources including the overall world consumption of fossil fuel, livestock (and human) flatulation and crop fertilization. The majority of scientific studies are now discounting Carbon Dioxide emitted by motor vehicles (burning of fossil fuels) as any MAJOR cause. Geological history indicates natural solar cycles are the culprit, something politicians have no power over so they ignore. The real short-term danger is in fact a buildup of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, but not Co2. The real culprit is Methane, a far more potent greenhouse gas, being released into the atmosphere by the decay of Methane Hydrate occurring naturally frozen on the ocean floors, due to the gradual (natural) warming of ocean water by the (natural) solar cycle. Another item our politicians have no control over and the liberal media will never mention. Follow the money trail... They promote revenue and power by promoting fear. "We just have to do SOMETHING...You know"? So they continue to promote cars as the culprit. If we reduce world fossil fuel consumption by 10% it would have absolutely no effect on climate change, and the world would be plunged into economic chaos.... The bottom line? There is absoluterly nothing any politician or group of politicians can do to stop these natural solar cycles, or slow their effects.

yes, and volcanic eruption des not put out more CO2 than human activity. that is a a misconception that is still being falunted around so much, it is almost a lie! well unless you live on a planet that a billion is less than a million!

Scientists have calculated that volcanoes emit between about 130-230 million tonnes (145-255 million tons) of CO2 into the atmosphere every year (Gerlach, 1999, 1992). This estimate includes both subaerial and submarine volcanoes, about in equal amounts. Emissions of CO2 by human activities, including fossil fuel burning, cement production, and gas flaring, amount to about 22 billion tonnes per year (24 billion tons) [ ( Marland, et al., 1998)

Of course I am concerned. If you say it's not real, you obviously live in a cave on Mars. I live in the Bay Area of California. It is literally the hottest winter I have ever experienced. Look at the snowstorms in Denver! Last summer was one of the hottest. It's predicted that by 2050, 110 degrees in the summer will be extremely common.

Al Gore showed global warming to the extreme. Not saying that it doesn't exist. I think people are starting to realize the impact that humans have on the environment and are finally really trying to do something about it.
