Never just use a condom. You need to use other forms of protection in conjuction with the condom; such as creams, jellies (spermicides), pills & IUD's. Talk to someone other than that lady...how many kids does she have?

If you plan on having sex, then condoms are something the male partner should use. They usually don't break, but different brands have different quality. Lifestyle is about the bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes. When I was in the Navy, our medical corpsmen bought them in bulk. You can get a box of about 2,500 for about $23. That comes out to less than one cent each. Many sailors who used them complained that they broke. I bought my own trojans, for significantly more money, and never had a problem with breakage... though I must admit I didn't use them very often.

Other birth control devices are more effective at preventing pregnancies, and there are a lot of things you can use that won't interfere with the condom. However, there are very few other devices that do anything to prevent the spread of diseases, and even clean couples can get bacteria that can make you smell less than wonderful, whether or not it's harmful.

She was wrong, condoms break... fall off.... or are too big or small so they do not "keep it all in". Use the pill and have the man use a condom. Adding spermicide would help as well. But honestly, if your schooling is that important why have sex to risk your future? Does taking the pill everyday, preparing the man by putting on a condom and applying spermicide to yourself sound sexy? It sounds like mood killers to me, but 100% necessary!!!! You sound way to young to have a child so I would say there is no need for you to even have sex.

what is right, what is the question? Never ever have sex without a condom, if the girl is on the pill thats a good thing but still use a condom. new one every time you know, and no saran wrap wont do.

Depends on what you are using them for.

If you are having sex and want to avoid disease they offer some protection. They can also help avoid unwanted pregnancy. Better idea is to save sex for marriage, old-fashioned as that may sound.

They are at best somewhat unreliable for birth control as they can break. They also offer some protection against disease but some viruses could penetrate the latex--which would probably best be described as fate taking control of the situation.

Condoms can also be inflated and used as balloons. That may be a more fun and logical use for them than for birth control, but using them as protection in sex makes more success than having unprotected sex.
