because it is the fear of the unknown. No one can give an honest account about what its like b/c clearly those who have experienced it are no longer with us. also all we know is life and for most people they like it and cant imagine not living it and being with those you love and doing the thinngs you love and practicing free will when you are dead you lose all of this. and if you are not religious or doubting as to the happiness of the afterlife then there is nothing to look forward to about dying.....

I personally worry or fear about the way I'll die and when it'll happen. However, other people are afraid of death because it leads their souls to the unknown and people worry about death because they think about all of the things or people that they'll leave behind on earth. This is why when people in near-death experiences choose to come back to this world.

I used to fear death but I don't anymore. I have noticed the beauty in nature and I could not be afraid any longer of dying only to become a part of all that beauty.

What I am really afraid of is living too long and not being able to take care of myself. I value my independence over life itself.

Well I fear death because I see everything that is alive is trying to stay that way. So I feel as if death is probably not going to be a good thing. Although certainly hope it will be cool, I have a feeling it is going to really suck.

There was a philosopher, I forget his name but he was modern, that said," Everything that humans do is done out of a fear of death." Even I think most religions which believe in "life after life" are rationalizing death so as to make it acceptable to their followers.

It is because it's the end of life. Everything ceases and disappear as life went off. Things that we possessed that bring joy to us will not come along with us as we die. As we gone, they all gone. Sometimes, we might think that our plans for the future may not succeed knowing that death may come unnoticed. We cannot foresee tomorrow. Now you breath, tomorrow may not. Even though that you're physically fit today, you can't be sure that you will stay healthy by tomorrow. Fearful, yet it's the fact.

Because what is unknown and unfamiliar to us usually causes fear. However not all people are afraid of death simply because they have philosophised the matter and they think that is nothing bad and that life may continue even after "death".

there is nothing to fear or worry about death because life is a cycle just like the shirt you are wearing when it is torn and old you discard and put on a new one,we come to this world to learn and endless education..........just like school you advance from nursery to kinder garden to primary to secondary and on and on,so if you come back as human it means you have to redo the learning,so make the best of your time to know the truth of the universe[nature]best of health and life to you, hope your journey will be a smooth one and have a Happy New Year

I am not afraid of life after death... I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and I know that I will be with my Lord when I leave this earth. Sometimes, though, I worry that however I die will be painful, like a greusome car accident or something. Also, I worry about my family... if they will be taken care of, if someone will wipe their tears away, etc... and that makes me really sad to think about. But... since my trust IS in the Lord, I just have to place these thoughts and musings into His hands. Easier said than done, of course... but it is something I choose to do.
