nothing significant was done. the land in question now was "taken" 4rm the Arab nations.
but after researching the history of the land, I can't but say those at fault are my Arab brothers, who are only interested in wiping other humans out. i doubt the land belongs to the Palestinians.
But!!!
we are talking humans here, not animals.
so what can the world do to help these people out.
I believe, if it was an Arab nation that occupied those lands, they wont agree to give back as much as Israel has done.
what can we do to save the situation?
Helpful comments welcome.

There will always be hatred toward the Jews because the Koran instills hatred of Jews and Christians "Take not the Jews or Christians as friends". Jews psst Mohammed off because they refused to convert to Islam way back in the 6th century. And every since, Muslims have hated Jews because of what Mohammed wrote in the Koran.

Okay I've read a few answers, and it sickens me ! The Brittish occupied the land once known as Palestine. And as far as that goes the Brits still occupy territories all over the world. I don't hear you people accusing London of not conforming with international laws. For an education on Israel. Here it goes.

In the 1940's after the creation of the UN, and the holocaust was committed by Germans, the land was partitioned by the UN to create a nation for the Jews, in their historic homeland of Israel.
The area of territory was very small and uninhabited. Jerusalem remained under control of Jordan. The Arab nations surrounding Israel attacked Israel, and through the help of the United States and other countries, Israel defeated its enemies. In 1967 Israel was attacked by Egypt Jordan and Syria. These nations were defeated. They lost land after launching an unprovoked attack. Gaza which was once part of Egypt was now under Israeli control. Golan Heights, once part of Syria was now under Israeli control. The West Bank , which was under Jordanian control, was now under Israeli control. Shortly after this war, Israel had tried to return Gaza to Egypt, and West Bank to Jordan. Both nations declined to claim their lost territory. Essentially leaving these territories as "disputed territories" and creating "Palestinian refugees". Now, 60 years later, they are still "refugees" because it's a victim's status, and as such, use this status as an excuse to wage terror attacks, and cry foul. In 1999 Ehud Barak and Yassir Arafat met with President Clinton. Barak offered the Palestinians all of the West Bank , and all of Gaza , plus 1/3 of Jerusalem (East Jerusalem) to serve as a capital for the Palestinians. Essentially this was everything the Palestinians had wanted, yet Arafat declined. The Palestinians will never have a soveriegn nation , because they refuse to live in peace with Israel. Israel has every right to defend itself from terror attacks.
Most all of the settlements in the West Bank have been dismantled, and Israel has been to peace negotiation after peace negotiation, yet the Palestinians continue to bomb busses and pizza parlors.

first of all this isnt just bout the 2 soldiers hezbollah has been attacking israel for years. plus i am lebanese and i lived in the country for 6 years and i can tell you that although there is all this daeth and distruction the christian lebanese would like nothing better than to see those hezbollah terrorists dissarmed and destroyed (i cant speak for the muslims though) and as for all the destruction im sure that israel will compensate lebanese for all of the damages. our governent is very weak and very corrupted and more than half of the population is muslim its hard to do anything about hezbollah without igniting another civil war. so israels doing the job for us i know it doesent seem that way but trust me its a good thing, i do however think that they should be more carefeull so that they dont kill innocent children. and as for nuclear power, right now lebanon doesent even have enough money to keep its power plants running the most parts of the country only get a half days electricity (and this was even before the war) right now the only thing lebanon is worried about is peace and prosperity. not nuclear weapons F.Y.I LEBANON IS THE ONLY CHRISTIAN NATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST THE COUNTRYS OFFICIAL RELIGION IS CHRISTIAN! BUT MORE THAN HALF THE POPULATION IS MUSLIM. HOWEVER WE BALLANCE THAT OUT BY LAW THE PRESIDENT MUST BE CHRISTIAN AND THE PRIME MINISTER MUST BE MUSLIM

Man! I feel like you guys have no idea what happened in history at all! Israel is a sham right from the start!

The Zionist community was planning the establishment of the state of Israel as far back as the late 1800's

LOOK IT UP

All they needed to do was dissolve the Islamic Khalifah (which they did successfully in 1926) and colonize the area (accomplished in WWII)

After they colonized the Middle East the people who made their homes in Palestine really had no choice but to "Put up or Shut up"

Naturally they chose to "Put up"............ a hell of a FIGHT!!!!

I Pray that Israel will never see a moment of peace until all of the injustices and wrongs have been righted.

NO JUSTICE NO PEACE!!!!!!!

P.S.

"the land was partitioned by the UN to create a nation for the Jews, in their historic homeland of Israel.
The area of territory was very small and uninhabited. Jerusalem remained under control of Jordan."

BULLSH!T!!!

How was it uninhabatied when my entire family has lived there for over 1600 years?!?!?! My Grandfather owned a newspaper shop at the bus terminal in Jerusalem before there ever WAS an Israel. I used to LIVE in Jerusalem and have met COUNTLESS people whos ancestors have lived there for hundreds if not THOUSANDS of years.

SORRY BUDDY, but PALESTINE has been inhabited for quite a long time. What gave ANYONE the right to evacuate some people in favor of others? The people who were born and raised there did not know any other home. Now all of a sudden they are told to find a new home country because the Jews needed some coast line property?

It's Israel who occupies illegal many lands ever since 1967 and refuses to apply international law.The Jews used to live there more than 2000 years ago,but they left.Period.Ever since then, there are Arabs living in that area and no one had the right to bring people from Europe and Russia and displace the Arab population in order to create a country there...
Unfortunately as long as Israel thinks it's above all human laws and think that they are allowed to do any crime and get away with it,we can do nothing....

I know you mean well trying to find some kind of solution to the Arab-Israel-Palestine problem but we're still figuring out what the heck to do now in Iraq.
