My sister was growing jalapeño's in our house, but they're turning red, not starying green. Can anyone tell me why?

Your jalapenos are turning red because they are getting very ripe and have been left on the plant a long time. Turning red is normal for most peppers, if they are left long enough to be allowed to do so. Red jalapenos will be MUCH hotter than green ones. Time to make some homemade hot sauce!

Jalapenos turn red when they're ripe. If you want the green kind, pick them sooner.

Pepper of all types -even 'green' bell peppers -turn red as they age on the plant. The redder they are the sweeter they are.
