I do not think that America is turning a blind eye on Zimbabwe. I also do not believe that it is a problem that America should concern itself with. The Americans should deal with the problems they have at home, and those they have caused recently by forcing democracy on others. It is a thankless task intervening abroad, as no doubt, they are becoming aware that meddling in other countries affairs can be costly in both people and resources. America is not the answer, Americans are not the world police, even if they think they are. Give Americans a break, they deserve it. Zimbabweans should be aware that it's a cruel world and they are on their own. If they have a dictator in charge they must sort him/her out.

Why put all the blame on USA? How many nations are in the UN and ideally this should be a group force but this over-population thing is making leaders do crazy things. We care about blacks we protested the Darfur horrors but the other nations did not kick in. The AU-African Union was counted on to help but proved to have other interests. If the UN as a body created with the hopes of inserting peace in places of injustice will not take on these issues, it makes one wonder what exactly are they up to.

for each informed person like u there are a quarter of a million Americans every day changing ideals because we don't have enough here for everyone here let alone take a chance on helping anything that can be an operative of draining America for the osama effect it doesn't matter how legitimate anything is now when everything is suspect of diversionary ploys~ can't u see that democracy doesn't produce the envelope of ending wars, it just is beyond nice guys, we gotta be the worst nightmare u don't want to know about to bring down the beast~u got &8 billion a week to start something that will never end, again, and again, and again

The Yanks have an agenda and it does not include real despots. If they did that then no doubt they would come under scrutiny for their actions since independence, the ethnic cleansing of the native population, the Asian wars of the 20th century and now Iraq. Mugabe has only given trouble to a few whites, who do not count politically as we don't in UK, and another tribe which is also black. However if there was oil found in Zimbabue the situation would change, especially if Mugabe charges more than the Yanks want to pay.

the U,S, and ....Britain forced Ian Smith to turn over power to Robert Mugabe , knowing he was a dyed in the wool communist
as soon as he got the power he started killing the whites and taking their farms and giving them to blacks, about 8 years ago when Rhodesia now Zimbabwe was starving Mugabe contacted the whites who he had not had killed and promised them their land back and start up capitol if they would come back , the blacks could not run the farms and make them produce, so many whites went back, about 4 ye rs later he started having the whites killed again, keep the U,S, out of it they will screw it up worse than it is already,if that is possible,, The U,S, and Britain did the same thing to South Africa, and the American people sat on their a,,,es and didn't say a thing, and let all of those peole die that they had screwed them around, and made them lose their homes businesses etc, some body should haft to pay for these
crimes,

The problem is basically with our stupid overly liberal news media that is too lazy and too ignorant to study the world's problems and would rather talk about the things that blow their skirts up.
Tell your friends about this--especially your American friends. I am well aware of the problems of Zimbabwe. By the way, 60 Minutes has done programs on it.
And write your newspaper and television stations. Tell them your concerns. The UN is a joke. Even when they know about a problem they do nothing.
Except maybe bash Israel for defending itself.
And I doubt if you can really suggest Hitler was anything less than the worst monster in political power of the 20th Century.
His homicide count numbers well into the millions.

They only turn a blind eye to it if they're the ones doing it or if its "someone else". Then come in at the end and be the "hero" that saves the day. "America" experienced the same with its own native tribes..... Didn't bother the invaders one bit! If some entity (or numerous ones) attacked the money or flow of it in the US and caused a "financial genocide" I'm certain things would be MUCH different!!! ;)

The basic answer is that America couldn't care less about Black folks. It is not just a republican thing either. Clinton sat by and watched hundreds of thousands be butchered in Rwanda and did nothing. It is a vile American trait. We go to war over a few mass graves and rapping's in Kosovo and Bosnia, but do nothing in Rwanda, Sudan and Zimbabwe. As hard as it is to say for me as an American, we don't care. No leader will spill American blood for blacks. Even though a lot of the blood would be from blacks anyway. Even our former colony in Liberia, where we have a history, we would do nothing. Deep in the heart of America, blacks are still sub- human and their deaths mean nothing. It is a vile indictment of the heart of America. A heart that only cares when white faces are involved.

Because Americans would rather spend their time answering pointless questions about relationships and other things on a stupid website like Yahoo than actually doing anything.
It's easy to take responsibility off of yourself by posting here 'that's bad and i dont support it and all other americans are stupid' but it's hard to make a difference. That's why people don't do it.
Meanwhile, I have no idea what to get my girlfriend for her B-day. Any suggestions?

what you have to realise is alot of these dictators were put in place by MI5 and CIA on purpose it only benefits the elite , the UN is not bt smoke and mirrors and created by people (the global elite ) who will eventually create a world government . vast subject yet all in plain view .
