There really isn't a set rule on this one. Some people split the arm rest, and some just use one. Do what feels right.

thats a good question..
what if both the people on either side decide the armrest near u is theirs.. then u have to watch the whole movie with ur hands on ur lap.. or u could politely request them to share theirs... if they turn out to be rowdies.. u could get into to a brawl with them.. lolz.. its never happened with me so far thou.. people seem rather organised in flights n movie halls.. if u have a prob in the flight therz always miss airhostess who'll help u out.. lol

both but i don't want to be greedy so i would have to say the right cause i'm right handed so i feel more comfortable on the right arm rest.

in a plane , your right cause thats were most radio controls and tv controls are.
in a movie , both unless you got one round a lovely lady
