Hey Isy. It's called emotional thinking. Fear is crossing the street looking up seeing a bus about to run us over and having the feeling you're having. Anxiety is crossing the street having the feeling you're having looking up and not seeing any danger. But because you're having the feeling you're thinking something must be wrong. Try grounding yourself in the present. Take a good look around. Ask yourself am I safe. If you are consciously tell yourself I'm safe. I'm ok. You haven't had enough experience being comforted. Make a conscious effort to find what's comforting. Exercise. Pets. Friends.... Try to accept the feeling- humans are hard wired to have the feelings you describe. The more you fight them the more they last. Accept and comfort. We can't always think of happy things and laugh. Sometimes life does feel scarry. If you can have your fear you can have your joy. Often anxiety is about boundries. I notice you talk about wanting control back. Some things are in our control-some things are not. If you're trying to take control of something you don't have power over then it can make you anxious. In general we have control over our actions not others. What we do can make an outcome more likely but not certain. Anxiety is often about supressed needs and emotions. If your supressing a need for relationship with the illusions of the internet it might be making you lonely, bored and anxious. In my experience the thought of people is scarry but the reality of them, of course with many exceptions, is great comfort and joy. In this remember that no one thing or achievement or person is going to solve all problems. But each thing achievement person etc. contributes a bit to make life deep meaningful joyful and everything else including scarry. I guess what I'm saying in a nutshell is don't try to get rid of the fear so much as add all the other emotions. Peace.

I get this feeling a lot, actually.
What I do to get over it is just to face it. For example, every day I feel like when I look in the mirror, my mirror image will do something horrible to me, or something will walk behind me and I'll turn around and nothing will be there. I just look in the mirror and stare at myself for a couple seconds, feel the overwhelming fear, and then laugh at myself for being an idiot. Another way is just to run. I'm afraid of the dark, so I run up the stairs every night to get away after turning off all the lights downstairs. One thing I'm afraid of is something happening while I'm in the shower--it's all dark and stuff. So I promised myself I would never die naked, and that's basically my biggest motivator right there.
Most of the time having other people around you is a really good way to get rid of the feeling of fear.

It sounds like you need to have a physician check you out. You may have an imbalance of certain chemicals in your brain. This is NOTHING to be ashamed of. One of my closest friends had the same problem and she finally found out what was wrong, it took her a long time though, and I've been through this too. Get a good doctor and counselor to help you decide what kind of treatment that you need. It will take awhile but you can live a normal life.

Dear ISY,
What is life? You are brought into this world not by your own will. Try to relax. Do not overburden yourself with unneccesary thoughts. Keep yourself busy. Do some good deeds to other. Help aged persons. Little things like helping aged people cross a street will also give you a mental high. You life is for you to live and enjoy. Do not think unnecceasrily overburdening yourself.

You're taking the wrong meds. Ask your doctor. Tell him it's not working, and if possible, could you switch meds to something else. A friend was taking Klonipin for years, then discovered it was wrongly perscribed for her condition. She's now taking Zoloft, and she says it's like night and day. What a difference!
