When you're sad, listen to happy songs! Does that not make sense? Listen to just about anything by The Beatles, it's all pretty happy. You could also listen to Pink Floyd's Meddle album. Not a sad song in there.
Trust me; when you're sad, sad songs just make you sadder. Listen to something that you like and sing out loud to it. Sing LOUDLY out loud.
