No.
There is quite a bit of "authentic" history in it, and a lot that is false. As for scientifically accurate, there isn't much to answer on expect things like the sun standing still, the creation story, miracles. Those are matters of faith that should be regarded as instructive, but they don't have to be literally true unless you have no faith.
There are contradictions in the Bible, and the same people who insist that it is literally true, every word, will then say you need to interpret the parts that conflict. They also have no real faith.
Read it and find the lessons in it, don't waste time arguing about how many pinheads can dance on an angel...

Science isn't scientifically accurate. History isn't a hard science anyway. It's a consensus of opinion based on what's most likely to be true given the preponderance of evidence.
It's impossible to prove that Jesus walked on water, but it is possible to show that most of the events, personages and places the Bible attests to, existed.
As to whether Moses parted the Red Sea or whether Jesus turned the water into wine... science tells us that's impossible. On the other hand, until a few years ago science told us that an infinite, eternal universe was impossible. And now they tell us it's likely; that the Big Bang wasn't a one time event; that there have been an endless series of Big bangs, and that the universe is...endless and eternal.
Science is in process. There are realities that it has not yet glimpsed. So...did Jesus perform miracles? I think so. And that science says it's not possible...doesn't really have that much weight.

There is a book you should read "the bible - Gods word or mans?" published by the watchtower, bible and tract society.
The Bible, where it touches on scientific matters is accurite... though it isnt a science manuel.
Eg.,the cycle of precipitation is mentioned in simple detail in Isiah 55:11...
Prophesys, while they may require some deep study to fully understand, have come and are comeing very litteraly true.
Daniel speaks about all the world powers from his time to ours in a few sepperate prophesys, one being Daniel chapter 2

Reality is based on perception is it not???
Man wrote the bible, god gave the ideas and Jesus spread his teachings, but there were 12 disciples and only 4 books on their learnings.....You can have the same experiences as other people but remember details differently.
God gave us the means to make up our own minds about him....So you have to sort through the bible and decide what the purpose of it is rather than get stuck in the wordiness of it.....
It comes down to accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and Savior and Just treating people the way you want to be treated.
But as far as literally true and scientifically accurate....think of it this way, todays science is tomorrows history and it changes everyday....We are learning evolving and expanding perceptions.....How can we expect something written centuries ago to have the same slang and environment that we are accustomed to...It's not as Black and White as all that.
Good luck in your quest for your truth, and whichever way you go, just be true to yourself and you will be ok. :D

there is nothing scientific about the bible...it's nothing but a book of stories designed to control people
Edit:
Lamplighter...not sure what you have been smoking but a GREAT deal of science is accurate and can be proven mathematically. But what do I know, I only have 2 engineering degrees from Drexel

No - it never has been and never claimed to be. The Bible was written to explain religious ideals to simple uneducated people. For example, creation of the world and man is described as taking God six days to complete creation. Those so-called-days were not days a we know them - but periods of time - lasting many years to become what we know them to be. The Bible is a "story" to tell simple people about the wonders of God and His concern for his people.

Absolutely not. Its a book of analogies. Example, the story of the loaves & fishes - Christ didn't magically conjure up a load of food, instead he found a way to feed the hungry masses
