What does it take to become a superbly good writer?

I love writing and wish to become a published author. I am currently working on my second novel, which is revolved around teenagers and very basic concepts.. I don't want to create super perfect characters who have 10 cars and are super rich, because sometimes that doesn't make sense. I'll appreciate more feedbacks on becoming a writer. Thanks.

Know yourself, know your style of writing and believe in it thoroughly....know your audience...are they able to relate to what you want to communicate? "Knowing" is one thing, "being" is another, do you feel the same way that your target audience does....What is the intensity of your desire to put your point across?... the answer for this lies inside you.

You must understand humanity. If you don't understand the human heart then you can't write. I have read stories from every culture and have made connections with the people because they have touched on the universal truths of humanity. You must also understand this to be a good reader. Plot, structer, character, grammer are all details and skills you can develop, but you must know what it means to be human or it doesn't work.

i recently purchased some books on novel writing for the same thing. you basically need a lot of time and patience, along with a good plot and developed characters. of course it goes much farther in depth, but i would recommend buying a book to help you.
