I'm playing Half Life 2 and am stuck at the A7 gate in Nova Prospekt.?

I'm playing Half Life 2 and am stuck at the A7 gate in Nova Prospekt. I just killed the Bull Antilion in the shower room, walked down the hall and turned left into the next room. I took out the turrets and all the walkthroughs say go left but the gate is locked. What am I missing?

What aznhengdai said is right, but let me give you a tip. The Combine attack is a *serious* pain in the *** and it'll probably take you a few tries to live through it. My favorite way to get past that choke point is to use the gravity gun to pick up the turrets and then place them back in the storage bins they came from. Set the turrets up in the bins, crouch down in the one empty bin, and kick back to watch the Combine slaughter-fest! The Combine will make it into the room and start attacking the turrets, but the turrets are protected by the bins and will almost always spray the Combine with enough fire to kill them before they can get a hit in. If a turret gets knocked over just duck out and reset it before the next wave comes in. By the end of the fight you'll be wading hip-deep through dead Combine and blood spray. It's pretty damned fun!

go to the room where there are 3 turrets and set them up. you will see a LOT of combine will start to attack you, you better keep checking up on your turrets to make sure they dont fall out. alex will come get you after ~5 min of being attacked.

also: up, up, down , down , left right, left right B, A, in that sequence makes a health pack appear..helps in that stage..
