Buddy Guy once stated "there's no better cure for the Blues than playing the Blues".

But if you can't play them, you sure can listen to them and it works just the same.

Give a listen to pretty much any Buddy Guy stuff, Stevie Ray Vaughan will do nicely too if you wanna get your toes tapping along. Robert Cray works too.

That's all traditional Blues though, if you're looking at more upbeat stuff, try some J. Geils Band.

If you'd rather listen to some English Blues, Pink Floyd or some Rolling Stones...different styles, but Blues nonetheless.

Yes, these can all be classified as Classic Rock for the most part, but Rock is heavily based on Blues and today's "bands" just don't and can't compare when it comes to song writing and musical talent. There's a reason why these older bands are still being played on the air today, they had the talent. How many of today's "bands" do you really expect to hear 30 odd years from now?
