I am trying to set up my Mac OSX to be able to share files with my PC XP. I have them both plugged into a router. Not sure how to share though...

I know it is possible to do this, as I have seen Macs in my company link to a shared folder on a PC. It's not a compatability issue. I just need to know what to do on each of my systems in order to share a folder.

the mac operating system is different from microsoft.... ms will not read the mac.. and the mac will not read ms so you have a problem there

ms file format is either fat 32 or NTFS and the mac is similar to unix

I believe that I would get a second opinion? Maybe call your customer support from one of the two computers that you are trying to wire together. Reason... They are two different operating systems.

one has to be the host..... I choose the mac.. go to the system pref for sharing and turn on 'windows sharing'... follow instructions for the sharepoint on the pc.
