Can I install recessed lightening in a flat cieling by myself.

How difficult it is and what tools would be required and where to buy them.

How about fishing the wire to the desired location wihtout breaking apart the drywall cieling and walls. I feel that is most difficult ?

If you meant recessed lighting (no N), yes you can, provided you are handy and understand the basic electrical wirings.

Installing the fixure itself is easy. Cut a round hole and stick the fixture in, and use the flange to secure. The difficult part is the wiring, especially into the wall, onto the switch, and connecting it to the existing circuit.

Without knowing your current level of knowledge, I can't go into the whole explanation. You should perhaps visit a book store, and purchase one of the how-to books.

There are whole bunch of knowledge that is required to complete a project like this, and it can't possibly be explained in few sentences.

Be aware though, mistake can be dangerous to your safety and to your house. Believe it or not, 120 volts can seriously hurt you (not to mention there are 240 volts circuit around, too), and using the wrong kind of fixture can be a cause of house fire.

honeslty i think not. and here is the reason....you asked. if you were a handy man or women you would already know your skills. Bob Villa can install his own and he knows he can. If your not sure you can and are asking, then i believe no you cant.

i really and truely suggest you not try because i think you will waste your money and there is a very real possibility of you getting hurt or killed when working with electricity. Not worth risk. i hope everything turns out how you hope.

actually just reread it and you seem to have more experience than i originally thought. if you do it, at least the first time have a friend work on it with you. good luck.

You bet you can. What I did was by a book at Home Depot on installing the lights. Check out your local stores for "How To" books that give good step-by-step instructions with illustrations and talk to sales people in the store too. A lot of them are experienced crafts people. You'll enjoy doing it yourself.
