Poor Notre Dame??? - No Way.
Poor Notre Dame fans you mean for having to put up with 8 or 9 straight bowl loses? They are the most nationally known college football team - Notre Dame lost games vs good teams this year.

It is a shame Notre Dame gets invited to bowl games, while other teams more deserving stay at home, talk about being over rated, and this is the same team that was crying for a shot at the national championship, they should have a military bowl just for Notre Dame, since they play all the arm forces to pad their record

I am not certain that the lopsided score in the Sugar Bowl had as much to do with the lack of skills on the Notre Dame side as the overall team skill of LSU; ND was simply overmatched as would practically any other college team would be if playing the boys from Baton Rouge at this stage of this season.
Though of course at times the Irish get invited to bowls because of their reputation as one of the bedrocks of college football, I am not so certain that this was one of those times. I honestly think that about anyone in the country would have all they could handle if they played the Tigers now.
LSU certainly stumbled a couple of times and that took them out of the national championship picture, but I would love to see them play either of the teams contesting for the championship next Monday night. If so, I think the BCS Champions would be wearing purple and gold.

i have always liked notre dame but i have to agree with just about everyone else here, they have consistently been overrated, and they just straight up do not deserve an automatic invite into a bcs bowl game, not when they are getting destroyed by any ranked team they play, fact is fact the bcs should do away with including them unless of course they prove themselves. yes they may be the most storied team in college football history but that is what it is history. to many teams played and worked really hard and would have made a much better matchup in that game for lsu, west virginia or rutgers should have been in this game

Yeah, Notre Dame blows. BSU probably would've beat them by the same score.

They were a #11 ranked team going up against a #4 ranked team. BCS is messed up; mismatching teams that outrank or underrank each other.
