Ok, you've gathered by now that this behavior is abnormal, so I just want to add that I would be worried about the stuff on the match tips. Its that stuff posionous? Oh and he can irritate his urethra causing infections blatter, and on the skin.

My guess is that it's probably not a good idea... the skin inside there is sensitive. I'd hate to see what would happen if your friend were to get a cut... infection, pain... blech.
