It depends upon what I am doing...where I am going. If I am going out for a night on the town I usually wear big, bold dangly earrings. For everyday use I like small hoops or studs, depending upon my mood. I guess that I most often wear my small silver hoops or pearls.

I suppose you're about to buy them for somebody? Well, I'd rather somebody buy me hoops or studs. Dangly can go so wrong!
However, the best way to do it is look for something that catches your eye and you think, "That looks like something she'd wear."
And... in case she doesn't absolutely love them, I wouldn't say "I saw these and thought of you." Because she's a woman and will read into every possible way wondering why they reminded you of her when she doesn't like them. (Be brave of heart, jewelry is a pretty safe bet. Ha.) Instead, tell her, "I thought you'd look awesome in these." That way she knows it is just for her and you were thinking of her when you bought them.

Well. . .Dangly earrings are slightly more savvy than those hoops and studs =). I always like a variety of different styles and there are quite a few unique dangly earings out there.
They are also more femine..in my opinion ^^.

Dangly and hoops are normally the favourites, but it depends on the person.

depends on the look i'm going for, where i am going and what the occasion is... if i go out with my girlfriends i would wear hoops, if i'm trying to be charming and am going to one of those family things i go for dangly, if i am going out someplace fancy i'll wear studs, but i'll also wear studs when i'm trying to be subtle about my ears

I prefer drop earrings, but since I work in a laboratory, I'm required to wear studs

hoops .. they go with almost everything .. dangly for special ocassions & studs for second holes & my cartilage

White Gold hoops (smaller ones). Diamonds are also always in style.
