There's no real answer but one possible one is that basketball has always been a city game. Those who live in the cities are usually the best players. Since for the last 50 years or so, many American inner cities have large black populations, this theory then says that there will be a good amount of highly skilled black players.
When American cities were predominantly white and especially Jewish in the 1920s through 40s, many of the best players were white and Jewish.
This doesn't take into account the recent influx of European players to the NBA but if you look at the demographic statistics of NBA and Div-I NCAA players, they are still predominantly African-American. So the Euros comprise only a relatively small percentage of elite players.
A few exceptional individual Euros (Dirk, Gasol, T. Parker, for example) have made people think that there is a real Euro invasion going on. However, if you look at recent drafts you'll notice that for every Dirk there are three to four Euros who never even see a single NBA minute.

The question is why are black people good in playing hoops... It doesn't say anything about white guys aren't good in basketball or white guys suck in hoops or blacks are better than whites and the likes.. so I don't think its racist..
So why are they good? Maybe because they're just really good at it..

Funny. None of my black friends are good at basketball.
I think it's an over-generalization, given the number of great white basketball players out there. I think it's more of a socio-economic thing. A lot of dudes with nothing to do but play with the bloods.
This will change, as the bro's start investigating the stock market.
Then the East Euros will take the game.

Because they are told they are good at sports.
I saw a study where they told they told groups of blacks and whites that they were putting golf to prove their athletic prowess and the blacks kicked butt.
Then a new study group was told they were putting balls to figure out the individuals' intellect. The whites kicked butt.
It has to do with self-esteem and believing one can do it--no matter what it is.
