It just takes a LOT of practice.....the song has to be automatic for you, both on guitar and singing. It gets easier the more you practice it.

Steve, all these guys have good advice, but what I did to enhance performing-singing and playing at the same time is,every chance I could get to perform in front of other people, I took it, small crowd or large crowd, I even volunteered to play at a little cafe', singing and playing by myself, I also volunteered to play at nursing homes, the same way, also, at schools for children the same way, all these hours I performed singing and playing at the same time payed off for me, because now people ask me, ? how did you get so good at singing and playing while you sing, and thats how I did it!!!

nicely basically try now to not imagine about it too a lot. get the guitar bit down until eventually you may play it with out searching at it, or walk round at the same time as taking section in it, or basically searching around the room. then you truly can upload the words to it. yet once you try too complicated it would want to be complicated. regardless of the indisputable fact that it will contain prepare :) relax, bypass, and feeling are the foremost elements :) solid success!

Play along and sing along to songs you like that have easy chords and lyrics and you will get the hang of it.
