How to make HTML code show up...?

Does anyone know how to make it so that the HTML code shows up without actually taking that action that the HTML is for so that people can copy the code itself???

I want to make a banner that I created show the banner, then right under it, show the HTML used in it so that people can copy it and apply my banner to their own webpage

They'll always be able to copy the code, even if it's not in a tag, unless of course you use the code to disable the right-click function (see sources). It's the easiest way.
