I am not sure that there is one thing you can do to become more confident. The fact that you want to work on it is a start. I'd suggest that you think about what your talents are and try not to focus on your weaknesses. As for women, I think that you might benefit from taking a reasonable risk with one and asking her out.

yES.If you want to be confident, then you first need to learn to ACT confident - this is the bridge between wanting to be confident and actually being confident. It is very hard to go straight from wanting to be confident to actually being confident; that is such a huge loop. Therefore the intermediate step is to act AS IF you are confident, in a sense to pretend you are when you are not, like an actor on a stage. If you act like you are confident, convincingly, then you will find people are much more likely to treat you as if you are confident, and as a result, you will make the transformation from acting confident to actually being confident!

I can relate. There is nothing wrong with being a cat. Just don't let anyone think they can push you around. Stand up for yourself. As for the girls, try to relax and be yourself. What ever you do, don't let the girls push you around. Don't agree with them just because you find them attractive. Be yourself. Be nice, but don't be a push over. It never hurts to get cocky every once and a while either. Try not to be too cocky though. It's hard line to walk, but there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. This is where you want to be.

Lack of confidence is a symptom of discomfort stemming from a lack of knowledge most of the time. About things, yes, but mainly about yourself.
Examine and critique yourself. Have others do it, too (honestly and with a eye towards actually helping you, not just picking on you).
Learn all your weaknesses, but more importantly, truly admit and learn what your strengths and limits are.
Basically: Know Yourself. Once you truly get that done, you will be more comfortable with yourself which will give you the confidence to go forward.

You shouldn't changed if you don't want to, to get a girl. Just find somebody that likes you who you are. I have a lack of confidence as well, but when people ask me for help, I feel confident in that area because I know what i'm doing. Don't worry about it too much, in time something will change.

Learn to love yourself, and remember that we ALL have insecurities.
