No, i feel its better than naming the dog Tom, Dick or Jerry cause it sounds too human. An unique name like this will bring out the speciality in your dog. And also, no human will react to the name when its being called. =)

Not if he's marked like one. I named my dog Pinto because her markings were similar to that of Pinto Ponies.
