a baby corn snake can be kept in a 10 gallon tank and when they are adults they can be kept in a 20-30 gallon tank. they need a heat mat under half of the tank and they need a light at the top of the tank. they also need a water bowl which it can't knock over and big enough that it can take a little bath in it and they also need a good substrate which could be carpet, aspen shavings, paper towels,Eco earth, reptibark or any other recommended substrate but i wouldn't go for the pine shavings or ceder shavings as they cause respiratory problems and i wouldn't go for sand as it can be irritating to most snakes and also can be dangerous if eaten. you could add some plastic plants and some branches from a pet shop to put in as corn snakes love to climb as much as stay on the ground.you will also need a hide for it to hide under as corn snakes like to hide. you could use a thermometer as then you can tell how hot it is on both sides of the vivarium and make sure its not too hot or not too cold. i hope my info has helped you.

What would be a good idea to make him comfortable is if you research your pet properly before you buy.

You should know what your pet needs to be comfortable BEFORE you buy. If you don't know what size cage the animal needs or how costly/time consuming it will be how do you know this is the right pet for you?

For a start, your snake needs HIDES. Somewhere it can curl up and feel safe. Two seconds on the internet could have told you that and to buy an animal totally blind is total ignorance and shows a lack of respect for the living creature you have no clue how to care for.

Sorry man... no offense... but having a snake is a committment. Not a fashion statement.
