So I think this is an interesting question. If slavery were legal, would you buy a slave? If you could own someone you knew would you do it? Obviously society makes us feel uncomfortable about this question, but if it were accepted, what would you do.

No I can't bare the thought of putting an innocent person through the pain like the slaves went through all because someone chose them to be considered worthless. And if I was rich, I'd hire a maid and pay them and treat them with respect and give them the liberty to chose their destiny. I'd never whip them, cut off their legs, let them get raped etc.
But realistically everyone wouldn't mind having a helper right. So yes if it was in way that they were paid fairly and treated fairly then I'd have one. Imean it's still the same today, the rich have servants, maids, nannies and gardners etc except they aren't whipped and killed for travelling without permission. Unless you're Niomi Campbell yeah you might get the occasional cell phone whip!LOL. We just made it seem better and everyone has a choice not forced, you can be a nanny or be a doctor!

obviously, you're not considering yourself--as your avatar suggests, a non-person of color--as the possible cattle to be bartered for, bought or sold?
would you be asking this question if it were stipulated that your race would be the enslaved? i think you'd have your answer if you considered that possibility.
questions like this are disgustingly self-serving and ignorant. i can't believe you felt it was one of merit, enough to present to a worldwide forum, consisting of millions of people, hundreds of nationalities, cultures and races, who have experienced some level of social subjugation throughout history, such an atrocious query.

i am not at al racist so i would say yes if it were still allowed, who wouldnt want a slave doing everything for you. but it is not accabile now.
