Apart from what measjulie as said...
Something nice and mellow, really not too touristy, and cheap is Gatorland. It's a nicewildlife preserve that can be fun and educational for the whole family.

Sure there are plenty of things to keep you busy in Orlando other than Disney related attractions. On International Drive, they have Wet 'n Wild, a thrilling water park with a good majority of rides for everyone. Universal Studios is right around the corner. There you will find intense roller coaster rides, and tuns of shops and restuarants at the city walk section. On the other side of I-Drive there is Sea World, personally one of my favorites. It's this huge theme park with different sea creatures such as whales, sting rays, sharks, dolphins, and the list goes on and on. Also they have some cool rides there now.
Theres a lot of other smaller attractions that are very fun to visit such as Fun Spot, SkyVenture, Skull Kingdom, Magical Midway, and many museums such as the Orlando Science Center in Downtown Orlando, and Wonder Works on I-Drive I believe. If your into sports, you can head downtown to the Amway Arena and check out an Orlando Magic(NBA) game who look promising this year, or even an Orlando Predators game of the Arena Football League. There's so much more I can't even fit it all on here, but there is so much more to do in Orlando then Disney Related stuff. Hope I could be a help, enjoy your stay here in Orlando.

If you wanted to go to a theme park, I'd suggest going to Universal Studios, it's two parks and lots of fun.
There is International Drive, but is extremely touristy. It has different kinds of shops and places to eat.
There is also Leu Gardens; the University of Central Florida if you wanted to tour the campus perhaps..
Winter Park has little shops and boutiques; Winter Garden has a winery
Or you might want to go to Cape Canveral and see the Kennedy Space Center.
Hope some of those give you some more ideas for your trip! Good luck and enjoy your time here in Orlando!

Daytona Beach is just an hour away to the east, you might want to try that.
International Drive is touristy, but free, and is interesting to walk during the day and early hours. There are alot of shops and amusement parks, along with interesting sights. Might want to go into some of the shops and see how many stupid touristy type gifts you can see.
My wife and I spent 4 hours going from shop to shop and laughed our butts off. (And we live in St. Pete, about 1.5 hours away). There is also downtown Orlando to explore, near the old railroad station. Cannot remember the name of the area, but off of I-4.

When my wife's mother came to visit last year, we took her to the Orlando Science Center. It's far away from the attractions side of town and offers a different type of activity that most tourists are not aware of. It's not too expensive either, $15 for adults, $10 for kids. There's quite a bit to do there too. We didn't get through all the museum, but if you plan your day right, you should be able to see the whole place.

different than procuring and everyday and Disney, there truly isn't that lots in Orlando. it truly is crammed with relatively some touristy capture sort of issues. i might hit a coastline and relax on a coastline yet heavily, i might do the Disney element. you would be waiting to truly savour Epcot, the nutrition, and the entertainment while you do not have youngsters with you to pull you back to Magic Kingdom. A sooner or later bypass to Epcot will shop a while busy for a minimum of sooner or later and would I advise some positive eating. Coral Reef for Surf and Turf, Biergarten for German buffet, or Le Cellier for a different adventure of eating in a cellar. ensure you call a million-407-wdw-dine first for reservations nonetheless in case you identify to pass. Epcot has the terrific snacks, foreign places penny candy, and places to consume in united statesa.. savour your holiday to Orlando and desire you discover plenty to do. google terrific issues to do in Orlando, which could discover you something.

There are a lot of different things for a good price to do on I drive. If you want to have a fun time shopping, I would suggest Waterford Lakes. Waterford Lakes is the biggest shopping plaza in the South East region, there is a lot to do. Waterford has a Regal movie theater, restaurants, and many many different stores!
