A friend of mine is 3 months pregnant. She said that BEFORE she found out that she was pregnant, at least 3 different older people told her that she was pregnant. It turns out out that they were looking at her neck. They say that you can see the baby's heartbeat in a woman's neck. She showed me and if you look very closely you could see the beats.

I'm 10 days late and the only symptoms that I'm experiencing is that I'm falling asleep easier and faster, slight headachs, some lower back pain, and dull pains in my lower abs.

I looked at my own neck and could see the pulses. However, I thought that it could just be my regular pulse (since it can be taken in you neck).

I know I should just go ahead and take a hpt. But I'm too nervous. Every time I take one, it comes back negative. Also, I have a doctors appointment on Monday. I figured I'd just wait until then and see what they say.

never heard of it before and i sort of have a hard time believing in it. in chinese medicine, you could do that, but by checking your pulse on your wrist. and you're right about looking at your neck and the pulse being yours not the baby's. before 20th week of pregnancy, it's not even recommended to check baby's pulse using stethoscope because the result may be misleading, i.e. you missed the baby's heartbeat and concluded that something is wrong, or you hear your own heartbeat. and that's because baby's so small, and is still roaming loose in your womb. chances to hear the heartbeat gets better when the baby's bigger and lies closer to the womb, even touches it. so, i truly don't know what to say to that "foretelling".

as for your decision to wait until you see the doc, that's wise. good luck =)

No way, your neck pulses are your own heartbeats. If a doctor can't hear the baby's heartbeat with a regular stethoscope until after 20 wks (and even then it's hard), then how in the world could a person see it in another person's neck??? Never heard that one though.

A lot of people have the nerves in their neck that pulsates....it has nothing to do with being pregnant. That's another way you can check your pulse. Why dont you just take a HPT. Good luck to you.

Well, I did that to...... I was tired 20 out of 24hrs, cramps (slight, dull, ache, headaches--bad, ) and I started........ I'm not saying your not, but, the signs and symptoms are the very same thing I did...... The Dr even thought I was....... My lower back hurt, my ovaries, whole 9 yards...... The pulse in your neck----- way to soon........

It's IMPOSSIBLE.. If u were PG if wouldnt show in your neck. It would be too soon anyway ur baby doesnt even have a HB yet.
But if there is a possiblity of u being PG you should take a HPT just to make sure!

I was told that to but i think that it's your pulse and it is a bit harder. I think you should just go to the doctor for a real answer

lol-I've never heard that one before.
but yep, if you look closely at your own neck--you can see it 'throb'.

my first signs were the lower back pain & being super tired, along with my normal pms symptoms.
oh-and very bright yellow urine. (I do and always have drank a lot of water, so my urine was usually clear)

That's ridiculous. Fetuses don't even have heartbeats until day 25.
