Bell South has 4 price ranges for DSL from $24.95 through $46.95.
Which one do I need? They get faster as the price increases. I hope ppl who use this ISP will give me some help sorting through the choices. They say they are 5 ti 100 times faster than dial-up. Do I just want to get the fastest one or will the other options suit me better? Or would Comcast be better?

I'm a musician and need to send my songs to producers fast. Do I need the fastset one or will 3.0 still be fine?

hello No i do not have bellsouth dsl as its not available for me so i was forced to choose highspeed satelite internet which is more expensive, but i can be of some help. depending your useage of the internet . if you have more than one computer sharing the dsl connection then that will indeed require the more expensive/faster service, if only one pc, and basic internet useage then the cheapest package would be a great plan, and again if you do a entire lot of downloads online you would wnat to consider the upper package its same as all things you get what you pay for, indeed the higher cost packages are best for top speed and useage, but if you are just a basic user then the lowest package is the perfect choice, i have used a friends whom has the lowest package and for as web surfing, minor downloads it seemed great. bell south has been aroud for a long time, if you are a dial up user now then hey the lowest dsl package would be a great move later if you decided you needed more speed you could upgrade it, but you would see a huge difference in dsl and dial up. hope this helps

I have had the $24.95\mo 256\128 DSL Lite plan since 2005 at my office. I also have Cox Cable at home. I can honestly say that I am happy with both. I have two computers at the office connected to the DSL Lite and it works great. Although it is only 256 download bandwidth I have actually obtained 350 Kbps through Download.com.
If you only have one or two computers and are on a budget I think you would be well served with the DSL Lite plan.
IMO

I have DSL through bellsouth and I would not trade it for anything. Unless you are doing some serious downloading and uploading I suggest getting the 3 meg package with a dynamic IP

You can't beat comcast I have it I fell it's the fastest connection out there. You can get it for $30 a mo for 6 mo after that it goes up to $50 you can go to the mall and try it out they have it there so you can see how fast it is.

I've had both DSL and broadband. I hated DSL. The connection was slow and would drop the connection all the time. It's very unreliable. I recommend broadband. It's what I have now and I have no complaints.
