The state seems to wait until the end of the month to send out w2's. It would be nice to receive them by the 14th of january instead of the 30th.

Legally they have until the end of January to get them to you.

By law, they must be sent so that they are received no later than the rnfd of thr month of January. Them may be submitted sooner - but there is no regulatory requirement to do so..

Federal law requires the employers (state or private) mail the W-2s no later than Jan. 30th. 1099s for independent contractors, interest earned on CDs, that sort of thing, must be mailed by Feb. 28th.
