An awesome question.
As for stressing tolerance; of course. We'll tolerate them once the heteros realize they have a disease and that we can cure them of it.
I suggest the establishment of clinics to help cleanse the poor hetero souls. They also have to listen to talks given by ex-straights who have been cured.
They can't get married or anything; that would be a perversion. If they really behave themselves, they might be allowed civil unions. No kids are allowed, can't have them growing up in that kind of environment.
Schools won't teach anything about safe heterosexual sex, just safe homosexual sex. We can't be encouraging them to do nasty things.
Eventually, we can probably cure so of them. We'll have to pray for the rest and send them daily e-mails reminding them that we're trying to save their soul.
Note:
This view is much more extreme than my personal views but I defend this by saying that I basically just substituted heterosexual for homosexual from a typical homophobe's response.

Which side do you want to be a part of your legacy? Helped spread tolerance and peace or joined the genocide? If everyone decided to turn their religion into laws, oppress others, etc we'd have things like the Iraq and N. Korea situations and the holocaust. Tolerance, respect for others, and open communication allow for peace. I'm not trying to be some hippy flower-child, but this is the truth.
Think about this too: What would Jesus do? Would he create a large religious institution that oppressed others that were different or would he have tried to spread tolerance for everyone?

Hello =)
Well...
From the perspective of a Mahayana Buddhist, one could actually say that there is a religious "preference" to homosexuality...
The purpose of the Mahayanists is to remove all beings from the cycle of birth, suffering, and death. When more beings are born into this cycle, there are merely more beings who have to be removed. We condemn the breeders of pets all the time for this practice, which increases suffering in the world, by increasing lives....so, why not condemn heterosexuals for doing the same??
Life is suffering...more life is more suffering....If one must have sex, it is better to do so in a way that will not cause more life to be created. The Buddha would agree with that....
Namaste,
--Tom

As a reproducing heterosexual, I've often felt guilty about the incredible amount of resources my offspring will exhaust, as well as the fact that I often get it on with no intention of producing any more little fossil fuel burners. If only more people of your faith could virulently castigate me, I could see the true light and start jamming it in the mancrack. Better yet, I'd probably change my mind once I knew that people with whom I share no common beliefs consider me sinful, particularly if they could ladle one just more scoop of misbegotten social control.
Thanks for asking!

Do you REALLY mean heterosexuals? I know this to be true a lot with HOMOSEXUALS, but this is the 1st I've heard about heterosexuals. I think religions should be tolerate of all unions whether same sex or not. That's my opinion. If you really did mean heterosexuals, I have to add that it's about time the light has been taken off of gays & placed onto the heteros of this world...yeah~

Why not let God be the final judge. Have you heard of, "Judge not lest ye be judged"? Perhaps you might try living in a style that suits you and not worry about how others exist? What if you waste so much of your life worrying over something so trivial as another person sexuality that you miss life completely.

A lot more love and a lot less hate. That's what my religion teaches. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Try not to judge those that have judged you harshly. Forgive them. Sometimes they get caught up in their own righteousness. Most mean well but understand little outside their bubble.

Man, you people are way too serious, not to mention clueless. Can't you see when someone is trying to make a joke? If you must have his intentions explained to you, he is trying to make a point by showing how ridiculous homophobia is. Get is a clue people!

LOL!
Christianity is not about hate, read the gospels, that is what my religion is based on, not the old testament, and not the imperfect ideology of those in the NT who came after Christ.
Have fun, sweetie. :-D

I wish you would. The intolerance shown through the years by my heterosexual brothers has been and is disgraceful. I appreciate your understanding and tolerance.
