Muslims planned and carried out the attack that killed thousands in America and, according to the Qur'an, Muslims are rewarded for killing anyone who does not convert to their religion. Tolerance is fine but how far do we have to go to be politically correct? Allowing a Congressman to sware in on the book that calls for the elimination of our country? Is that going to far?

You're correct, completely.

You say Muslims, and allow it to become a genaraliziton. The ideas and concept of the morbid and utmost strict misinterpretors of the Qu'ran do not reflect the ideas of ALL MUSLIMS.
There isn't a solid line in the Qu'ran that says eliminate America.
Now you're being just as inconsiderate as the people who feel it necessary wage wars against America because it "says" so.

but I have to say that I fear 'politcal corectness is moving from a nice conveniece of equality into a haberclasm of absurdity, that will eventaully have no end, and somehow leave any body who believes in a traditonal bible..as an outsider.

good question.

The Quran is not asking for the elimination of your country,or any other country. And,don't worry,no one has forgotten about the tragedy that occurred on 9/11,but unfortunately there is other tragedy going on right now:the war in Iraq, which claimed the lives of many people and there is no way to stop the mess that US has done in that country, which was attacked because of an imaginary reason...

(It's going to be long, so my request to you either read it carefully or totally ignore it)

Correction no. 1 in your 2nd line:

Not 'Muslims', it would be 'A group of Muslims'. I'm a Muslim and I think the attackers are the most disgusting example of how mean and senseless some people can be. BUT don't blame the whole Muslim community. People should be tired of this pointless accusation.

Correction no. 2 in your 2nd line:

'Kill the infidels', yes, it is very clearly written in Quran and each and every line in Quran, has it's explanation and reason why it was delivered. You need not to know much about the history of Muslims but for your information, 'Tabuk' war is one of the most significant wars in Muslim history and in this war the number of Muslims were very few compared to the enemy. So, Allah said this line to Muhammad (S) to boost up His and Muslim's confidence. And this line is ONLY and ONLY applicable in the FIELD OF WAR, NOT IN EVERYDAY SOCIAL LIFE. But unfortunately, some Muslims are brainwashed and they are using this in wrong way. Who are you? You are not from our religion, your ignorance is ok (although it is sad people says anything about Islam without any try to know what REAL ISLAM means), but to those stupid Muslims, they cannot be forgiven in any way for using Islam wrongly. (Now please don't misunderstand what I meant by 'field of war'.)

Correction no. 3 in your 4th line:

Quran is our Holy Book which came to this world about 1400 years ago, and as far as I know your country is 230 years old. So, how can Quran call for the elimination of your country which was not even born in that time? Actually where was America in 500 - 600 AD? America has no part in the history of Quran and Islam.

Now my answer to your question:

No, nobody forgot the tragedy on September 11th. People from many religions and countries died on that day. And no doubt that was the most disastrous day in America, I don't need to justify that. But what people forgot is that it is wrong to hate any religion or community for what a small part of it did. Don't hate Muslims, Hate those who kill people with no reason and all Muslims are not killers.

Our parents did not raise up us from childhood saying something like 'Kill infidels. Kill Americans. Earn more points(!) from God'. It's totally meaningless and silly you people think like that.

Your question shows that you are sad and angry about the tragedy and also know nothing correctly about Islam. That's the big deal here. Muslims aren't safe though!

Now tell me, Is it right to kill thousands of Iraqis? What did they do? You remember September 11th, don't forget the Iraq War. What is this game? Life for life? Your president says he is doing everything for your country's security but who give YOU and YOUR PRESIDENT to kill so many people for your safety? Many more people died in Iraq War than September 11th, don't you know? I'm not putting 9/11 aside but America is NOT the world. Not only Americans are dying.

Grow up!

No one has forgotten, but it's not fair to punish a whole religion because of what some fanatics have done. If that congressman is a Muslim, then he should use the book that he considers holy, to swear in on a book that he doesn't believe in would be dishonest.

Personally I believe that you should have to swear in on the U.S. Constitution. I believe we have a separation of church and state, let's start using it. I don't think you should be able to use the Quran, the Torah, or the Bible.

Unfortunately the Quran, like so many other religious books, is very elastic and can be interpreted in many ways by radicals. There are many good religions, and they all have their share of bad people. We shouldn't judge any faith by it's members free actions. Just look at Jim Jones. He claimed to be a Christian.

We need to be tolerant of other peoples beliefs, as well as any people who have lack of belief.

Show me where in that book it calls for the destruction of our country.......Let me help you it aint there. And another thing: SOME muslims carried out the 9/11 attacks not all of em. That's like blaming all Christians and Catholics for the Inquisition, or all germans for the acts of the nazi party, or all white people for the KKK. The U.S was founded on people that wanted religious freedom....so that means all of our citzens can practice any religion they choose....muslim, Jehova's witness, sientologists, you name it....Stop listening to others and actually learn what you're talking about before you jump on a soapbox spouting your half truths. Not all arab people are bad. (and no i'm not arab, I'm hispanic)

The qur'an(sp) does not call for the elimination of your country, it is the interpretation of the radicals that call for it and trust me - no one has forgotten 9/11.

Those on the far left who aren't still blaming our country for September 11th , would like to sweep it under the mat ( as if they could ) .

The book can be interpreted in any way one sees fit, as can the Bible. The truth is, he's swearing to uphold the laws of this Nation, not the Quran, nor the Bible.

The Qur'an does not call for that. Radicals use a passage to commit terrorist acts. That's nothing new as most religious have their fanatics.
