And what a damn joke this pick was...

Someone please explain how having the 30th passer rating in the NFL and having the WORST accuracy in the NFL (worse than Vick and anyone else who stepped under center this year, even Andrew Walters!!!) and he also threw more INT's than TD's, this is what gets you the Offensive Rookie of the Year?

BUT Marques Colston is at the top of alot of WR categories, led the New Orleans Saints in receiving yards as a rookie (the Saints who BTW have a first round bye, the Titans are sitting at home). He also led the Saints in receiving TD's and had 70 catches in 14 games...

This was obviously a popularity contest b/c Vince Young didnt deserve even a single vote for this award, this is AWFUL. Only a MORON would say that Young shouldve gotten the award, most overrated rookie this season.

Who would you have given the Offensive Rookie of the Year to?

Bush has had a terrific year as a WR this season, but as a RB he has been horrible, and i mean horrible. He has only averaged like 3.2 ypc this season and there were 6-8 other rookie RB's who had better seasons than him. Thats why i dont think Reggie deserves it...

YO Brock and Randy...stats do mean alot, it shows how well your doing especially at the skill positions...so obviously it wasnt all Young that helped the Titans finish 8-4, as a matter of fact they were winning games without scoring offensive TD's so it was more of their running game, defense, and special teams that won them those 8 of 12 games, anyone could have took over and done better than Kerry Collins thats not hard....if you want to talk about VY and what he did again look at what Colston did, he dominated as a 7th round pick (maybe 6th i forget) and put up GREAT numbers and was the leading receiver on the second best NFC team...so Colston had everything going for him, great stats and a big part of a better team...Young had HORRIBLE stats on a team that was carried by their defense and running game (special teams as well)...VY had little to do...they will not do ANYTHING next season MARK IT DOWN!

While stats are a major focus, it is also the impact the player has had on the team in his rookie season. Just remember, Anthony Thomas got Offensive Rookie of the Year Honors in the 2001 season over LaDainian Tomlinson, even though LT had better numbers. Thomas's impact that year was felt when Chicago made it to the playoffs with a 13-3 record aided by his solid running game that year.

Vince Young made Tennessee look like a contender when took the center. However, someone else should have won Offensive ROY instead of Young: Maurice Jones-Drew!. His impact was felt across the board and ended with over 2000 total scrimmage yards and 16 TDs. With losses in the backfield and questions about Fred Taylor's future, Jones-Drew brought the running game back to Jacksonville, making them an even stronger contender than Tennessee (for the playoffs, it came down to the last game of the season).

Another argument against Vince Young ... look at Matt Leinart's numbers with a team that never had an offensive line. He threw for one less TD and one less INT than Vince, yet had 343 more throwing yards. Vince Young was expected to run the ball a la Michael Vick, and had better numbers in yardage and TDs on the ground than Leinart. The differences are that Leinart doesn't need to run since he has better arm strength and accuracy than Young and Arizona doesn't have a dependable offensive line for any runner (ask Edgerrin about it) unlike Tennessee.

Still, with other rookies who also brought a solid impact to their teams (Joseph Addai made Indy forget about James; Reggie Bush and Marques Colston developed well over the course of the season; Laurence Maroney revitalized the running attack with New England; Jay Cutler looked pretty solid with only a few games under his belt against solid defenses towards the end of the season) ... Vince was picked more or less for his general impact on a forgotten team and his general popularity.

Maurice Jones-Drew should be Offensive Rookie of the Year

I would say Vince young should be rookie of the year. He is an exceptional player, and has the ability to make his whole team better. The Defense as well as the offense. he is also a great leader, and is making the same plays he did when he was in college. Without young the titans would not be 8-7, but even without Maurice Jones, who is clearly having the best season out of all the rookie backs, Jacksonville would still be 8-7. For a rookie QB to come in on a team such as tennessee who lack a lot of talanted players and do what Young has done, is truley amazing.

When Vince Young was named starter, the Titans were 0-4. They finished 8-8, and if they had won their last game, they'd be in the playoffs. The guy's just a winner. Tom Brady doesn't have even top 5 stats but those three rings kinda make up for it. Look out for the Titans next year and for as long as Young is there.

If games were won by only stats, the whole playoff picture would be different right now. It is not about how many passes you complete or yards you make, it is bringing a team that was 0-5 and lead them to a 8-8 season which is what made VY so special

As much as I love my Saints VY deserved it. The Titans are absolutely horrid and yet VY led them on what a 6 game win streak or something like that. The Saints are loaded with weapons with Colston, Bush, Horn, McAllister, and the my man Drew Brees. A much better supporting cast than Young. Besides Colston and Bush stole votes from each other since they play for the same team.

I would have voted for Colston myself, but I'm not mad for VY getting it.

Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jacksonville Jagaurs. The
guy is 5-7 and 212 lbs, but he rushed for over 900 yards, averaged 5.7 yards per carry, which is incredible in any league,
never mind the NFL, and 13 touchdowns in his rookie season. He deserves it over Young or Bush.

Marques Colston had over 1000 yards receiving, which
is more yards than Jones-Drew rushed for, but he had
8 touchdowns. He had a 14.8 Yards Per Catch, which
is good, but not great.

Reggie Bush had his touchdowns, but his rushing average
was ordinary (3.6 YPC), and he was nearly 400 yards rushing
behind Jones-Drew.

I think Maurice Jones-Drew got hosed on the award.
Vince Young got the award, not based on his individual stats, which were horrible, but because the team finished 8-8 after getting off to a terrible start, and he was a big reason for that. He
can carry a team, like he did when he led Texas to a national
title against USC, or when he beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl with his athletic ability. You can argue against his stats, but you
can't argue about Vince Young's will to win when it counts the most. I think that is what won him the award over the other candidates.

I personally would have given the award to Maurice Jones-Drew.
He really has proven himself to be a fantastick back who can run and catch the ball.
Great addition to the Jags, if you ask me..even though "fragile Fred" isn't too thrilled about it
Second would be Colston from the Saints
Hofstra? Where is that?
And maybe, just maybe Vince Young, but I may place Reggie Bush before him even....

I do not think Vince Young should be Offense Rookie of the Year. Maurice Jones Drew of Jax deserves it (rushing receiving and he returned kicks or punts?). Reggie Bush of N.O. second. Colston from the N.O. third.

I agree 100%
I would give it to Reggie Bush though because even though his stats weren't great they were good and he made them competitive by taking some of the attention away from Colston and other receivers to allow them to be good. Teamwork
