I gave her a bowling ball for christmas, didn't seem like a big deal, but she now thinks that I'm trying to change her, make her more athletic, something like that. She left my place about an hour and a half ago and I've been sipping a handle of vodka on my bed ever since then. I'm just taking a quick break to come type this hear question. I'm totally pissed at her for being so cranky, but I also sort of want to talk to her again. It seems like complete bogus. What should I do?

Don't calll her if you're still pissed and have been drinking vodka. Let both of you calm down and then admit you were wrong (even if you weren't you say this so that you can get over this). Then say that you know you don't deserve a second chance but will give her a gift she would like (whatever nonathletic gift she wants such as perfume, jewelry, etc.) She should be fine after this. Good luck.

Your fiance is drama. Tell her that we said that too!

Seriously, she probably took the gift as a message that you don't care about what she likes. The thing is that when women get gifts they tend to want something with alot of value & sentimental. Something emotional that stands for your love for her. Like jewelry, flowers, cards, something expensive & girly like. She seems like the sensative type. Not all women are like that, but your fiance is one of them, sorry to say. You should just buy her another gift. Maybe you can tell her that bowling ball has nothing to do about how you feel about her & that honestly you did'nt think it would bother her or whatever. Be honest & sincere. Then take her out to dinner, ask her what she wants. Then go buy it for her.

I'm not like that though. If my husband gave me a bowling ball. I'd think that he wants me to have my own so we can go bowling together, spend fun time bowling. That's how I would take it! It's not too early to call her. You should call her now & tell her to come back.

You should call her, and talk things out. Sounds like there's more to the story than just a dude giving his fiance' a bowling ball for Christmas.

I'd consider a couple of things:

1. Why did you give her a bowling ball? Do you bowl? Then it would be logical for you to give her the ball, to engage in an activity you also enjoy.

2. Why are you asking a bunch of strangers on the Internet what you should do? Don't you know your girl, or your relationship well enough to figure this out?

3. Consider drinking the whole bottle of vodka, get trashed, and then call her and see what happens.

What do you think?

you are lying

real men do not sip vodka, and if you had been sipping it for an hour then you would be drunk, and you don't have a girlfriend because you are not a real man because you sip your vodka, either you are a woman or you are gay, if you are a woman then there is no help for you here because one woman is confusing enough but now there is two

the situation you just described is completely fabricated and contrived, it sounds like a load of dumpings from the rear end of whatever animal you may choose

Call and talk to her before too much times goes by. Does she go bowling? If not maybe you could get her something else. Tell her how much you love her and you want to get past this. Good luck and leave the Vodka alone.

So like a bowling ball was HER Christmas wish? Did you even bother to ask what SHE wanted? If the gift isn't going to make her feel more feminine, then you shouldn't even consider it.

And don't call her back. She deserves better than what you've been offering.

If you are so mad at her, why do you want to talk to her? Make up your mind.

Do not by any means give into her by calling her. When she acts badly, let her deal with the wrath and justness of your positions. Do not give in. She is pulling some of the basic women crap and if you fall for it, you will pay for it over and over again. Dont let her get by with it. She was willing to storm off, so let her do so. But then also let her understand that acting that way has costs for her too.

Call her, storm the castle w/ roses.
Are you trying to make her like you? The bowling ball sounds a lot less romantic than she would like. Think of her likes, not yours.

Call her..don't let it get out of hand. This is just a silly argument and yes women get cranky over impersonal gifts. Maybe next time listen and buy her something she actually wants.
