Do you think this is the opposite of giving the benefit of the doubt? Meaning you doubt something about someone, so you're going throw out any chances for the person or you doubt someone would do something... What is your interpretation of that line?

When in doubt throw it out pertains more to if the food in the fridge is still fresh, or if you contemplte buying something but dont really need it dont buy it. The benefit of the doubt pertains more to you ability to trust someone, its used in court..if there is doubt in the prosecution then there is a chance the defense is innocent. If someone tells you your BF or GF did or said something but they deny it and can back it up then give them the benefit of the doubt and drop it. If the food is growing fuzzies You doubt its any good so throw it out.

I think it means that if you have to second-guess a situation or have to think extra hard, means that something is not right...in other words go with your gut feel; your intuition and trust your instincts.
