Amy (post-er above me) hit the nail on the head, but you could also try sleeping on a recliner. I had the same problem (just several months ago!!) and I had to sleep with upper body partially elevated. This helps the baby to settle down, and not push so much on your lungs.
Sorry! My heart goes out to you, and good luck.

The baby weight is putting pressure on an important vein and therefore making it harder for you to breathe and sleep. You should probably start sleeping on your sides since this would help you with the breathing part. If you still have problems sleeping try a body pillow or even a pillow in between your legs and another one below your belly. If you have to sleep on your back try propping your head up higher with more pillows. Hope this helps.

Most likely your growing baby is pressing against your rib cage and lungs. And taking up all the room for expanding lungs in your diaphragm. This happened to me at about 29 weeks also. The baby will drop a little lower in a few weeks (mine was at 33 weeks) and it will become easier to breathe again. In the meantime the only thing to do is to relax. The more tense you get the harder it will be to breath. And don't do anything strenuous, like too much walking or going up stairs. Also warm baths relaxed me and the baby making it easier to breathe. My doctor told me about that time that I was going to have a big baby and I did - healthy 9lbs!

I sometimes get minor panic attacks, especially if I'm stressed that I can't fall asleep or am worried about too much stuff.
If that's your case too, try hot baths and Kava Kava tea before bed. If not you might have some respiratory problem. You should check with your Dr.
Good Luck :)

That's happened to me before too, but not very often. Sometimes I just feel like my lungs aren't getting as full of air as they could be.
I'd suggest seeing your doctor! Good luck, and have a nice week.

You might have allergy-induce asthma. This happened to me and I made it go away by only washing my PJ's, bedsheets and covers in fragrance-free laundry detergent and using fragrance-free dryer sheets.

You need to see a doctor, no one can answer a personal health problem like that, you need medical attention.
