The jury summons was for my father, and he didn't go... what should I tell them?

Then the notice must be for your father too. If he is alive and able, give it to him. If he is deceased or disabled, respond to the notice with this information.
If he is just ignoring the notice, and you feel it is necessary, you can call them and talk to them about it. If you were mistaken and the notice really was for you, explain why you made this mistake.

Tell them that you are not your own father. They sent a Jury Duty notice to my 10 year old last year. I sent it back with a scathing commentary. Sad thing is, when I was on jury duty, there were quite a few characters in the pool that looked like they would do a lot worse job sitting on a case than a 10 year old.

If the summons was for your father why did you get it? If it was for him why dont you let him deal with it? We may not have enough information to respond to your question.

I am not being flippant. My daughter got a jury summons sent to my house even though she has lived out of the county for ten years. I just sent it back to them marked "no longer at this address" and never heard another thing.

Inform them of valid reasons why your father was not able to respond to Jury Summons. There are exemptions for not doing the said duty.

It could be a scam, as has been noted by the FBI and several law enforcement agencies.
Just contact the local Sheriffs office in your town to see if that was a legitimate notice for your Father.

in all probability distinctive the place you reside. yet in my case, they notify you which you have been chosen. They then coach you to call a variety on particular days of the week. once you call, they inform you in case you should come again in or no longer. the 1st 3 or 4 situations I referred to as, we weren't required. the subsequent time, i grew to become into out of city and informed to checklist day after as we talk. yet there grew to become into no way i will make it. The choose assigns a clerk of the court too oversee it. I referred to as her, defined the area. She pronounced she could tell the choose, and grew to become into confident he could understand. in no way heard anymore. So only call and ask to communicate to the clerk of court, clarify it, and that i'm confident there will be no issue as long because it grew to become into an elementary mistake. possibly they have an previous or incorrect handle on you that they have not as much as date.
